Late January 2026 Update - Time Account Balances and Expiration Rules

Here’s what’s new since our mid-January update.

⏰ Time Account Balances

Employees and managers can now view time account balances directly on the employee profile page:

Current Balance: See available balance for each time-off policy
Expiring Soon: Identify balances expiring in the near future so you can plan accordingly
Next Accrual: Preview upcoming scheduled accruals
Detailed View: Click on any account to see the full expiration schedule and forecast timeline

Employees can view their own balances, while managers have visibility into their team’s accounts.

📅 Flexible Expiration Rules

Time-off policies now support configurable expiration plugins, giving you full control over when accrued time expires:

Relative Expiration: Time expires a set number of months after it’s accrued
Period End Expiration: Time expires at the end of your fiscal or vacation year, with optional grace period
Never Expires: For policies where time should carry forward indefinitely
Formula Expiration: Advanced custom rules using expressions

This replaces the previous fixed expiration system with much greater flexibility while maintaining compliance with jurisdiction-specific requirements like Danish vacation law.

📊 Accrual Plugins

A comprehensive set of accrual plugins is now available for time-off policies:

Yearly Accrual: Fixed annual accrual amounts, distributed throughout the year
Age-Based Accrual: Additional time off based on employee age thresholds (aka Senior Days)
Monthly Accrual: Flexible monthly accruals with configurable rounding and year start

Two plugins designed specifically for Danish organizations:

Danish Holiday: Simplified configuration for standard Danish vacation rules with September year start, proper rounding, and automatic employment proration
Danish Apprentice Vacation: Handles the specific accrual rules for apprentices under Danish law

Both Danish plugins automatically set the correct expiration dates according to Danish legislation.

🏢 New Workspace Creation

Workspace owners can now create additional workspaces directly from the application. This is useful for organizations that need to manage multiple distinct entities or want to set up test environments.

⚙️ Date and Time Preferences

New user preference settings let you customize how dates and times are displayed throughout the application. Choose your preferred format to match your local conventions.

🔧 Under the Hood

Security Updates: Upgraded dependencies to address multiple CVEs including prototype pollution and other vulnerabilities

🌍 Translations

Plugin names, descriptions, and configuration fields are now fully translated in English, French, and Danish.
