August 2026 Update - The mTIME X App, Visma Dataløn Payroll, and HR Advisories

Here’s what’s new since the July update.

🔗 Payroll & Integrations

mTime now delivers finished time straight into payroll:

  • Visma Dataløn: A new Dataløn integration connects your payroll company to mTime, keeps employees in step, and sends both time off and hourly-paid worked hours as payroll registrations — so pay is calculated from registered time instead of manual entry.
  • Corrections Land Cleanly: A re-approval after payroll has already imported a period becomes a signed correction in the next run, instead of a rejected update.
  • Intega HR Payouts: Time-account balances and overtime paid out at settlement now reach Intega HR under a salary code carried by the time account itself, alongside hourly-paid worked hours.
  • Fuller Integration Log: Admin › Integration Log records what each outbound call actually sent, so a rejected registration can be read without guessing.

🔔 HR Advisories

A new advisories area sends HR an email when something needs attention, without anyone watching for it:

  • Consecutive Sick Days: Be told the day an ongoing sick absence reaches 14 or 30 days — the sygesamtale obligation and the refusion window.
  • Sick Days in a Period: Repeated short absences add up inside a rolling window or the calendar year, the pattern no single absence reveals.
  • Expiring Balance: A warning before days lapse — and only when something will really be lost, so someone who has already booked the time off is left alone.
  • Scheduled Balance Check: On a date you pick, who is above or below a threshold on an account.
  • Missing Time Registration: A nudge while the period is still open, instead of a blocked submission five weeks later.

Advisories live under Settings › Advisories.

🏝️ Time Off

  • Year Overview: A new Time off page shows how many days can actually be booked, month by month, for the next year across every account at once.
  • Plan Now, Plan Later: The overview groups days by risk — only what a deadline will really take shows under Plan now; days a booking already claims sit under Plan later.
  • Fund One Request From Several Accounts: An employee with 8 vacation days left can request 10 days: mTime proposes a split across their accounts, and it stays one request with one approval.
  • Remove Days From a Period: Click a working day inside a drawn range to take it out, on both new and existing requests, with the removed days returning to the balance.
  • Danish Care Days: Children become employee master data, and omsorgsdage accrue per child per year automatically.
  • Balances Before a Date: The request sheet lists account balances as soon as it opens, rather than waiting for a start date.
  • Sixteen-Month Planner: The planner reaches further ahead, so next year’s vacation can be planned this year.

⏱️ Timesheet & Work Time

  • Payroll-Aligned Approval Periods: Employment terms now carry a payroll period — monthly from a chosen start day, or fortnightly from an anchor date — and approval periods tile it exactly, so nothing is unapproved when the salary run happens and nothing spans the boundary.
  • Working-Time Compliance: Daily rest (hviletid) and the weekly free day (fridøgn) are now checked as work time rules, defaulting to the EU directive’s 11 and 35 hours. Breaches appear on the timesheet like any other warning, and one report proves the result to an inspector.
  • Anchored Rotation Patterns: A multi-week work time norm now says which real week is Week 1, instead of deriving it from the calendar.
  • Timed Lunch Break: The automatic lunch deduction can sit at a specific time of day, is carved out of allowance windows, and is editable from the check-in records.
  • Flexible Lunch Triggers: The deduction can fire on a single long check-in record rather than only on a window, and an employee can restore an automatic entry they removed.
  • Steadier Allowances: Allowance rows on open periods are reconciled after a configuration change, so a period is never approved half-filled.

📊 Reports

  • Sickness Report: The HR sickness KPIs — absence rate, spell frequency, average duration, short/long-term split and Bradford Factor — grouped by unit, employee, month or day.
  • Absence Overview: How many employees are absent per day, week or month across every time off type — the coverage question a per-employee total cannot answer.
  • Report Presets: Save the whole view — filters, grouping, unit and period — under a name, star one to open the report with it, and share presets by role. Relative periods stay relative, so a preset still means the same thing months later.
  • Work Country: Filter every report by the country an employee actually works in, and group by it on the flexible ones.
  • Approved Time Only: The registered hours report can be narrowed to fully approved periods, which is what payroll and invoicing need.
  • Allowances Included: Overtime and other allowance rows now appear in registered hours, split by activity type, instead of being dropped.

📅 Calendars

  • Google Calendar: Employees can connect their own Google Calendar. Approved time off is written back as an out-of-office block — including the time off already on the books when they connect.
  • Free-Form Time Off on the Team Calendar: Time off registered straight on the timesheet (“gone home sick”, child sick, a funeral) now shows on the team calendar, so managers see the whole picture.
  • Your Own Unit First: The team calendar opens on your own org unit, and swiping through months on a phone no longer jumps back to the top.

📱 The mTIME X App

mTime is now a real app on your phone. Download mTIME X from the App Store or Google Play, sign in, and your workspace is where it always was:

  • Push Notifications: Notifications now arrive as real push notifications on iOS and Android, alongside in-app and email.
  • Sign In With Apple: Apple joins Google, Microsoft and Visma Connect as a sign-in option.
  • Check In From the Home Screen: The home-screen widget checks you in and out without opening the app.
  • A Real App, Not a Tab: The mobile experience was tightened — two dead ends on the mobile timesheet are gone, fields no longer zoom in without a way back, and entries created with the native time pickers stick.

👤 Users & Access

  • SCIM Provisioning: A customer’s identity provider can create users and drive role membership automatically. Your identity provider decides who exists and who holds which role; mTime keeps deciding what a role may do.
  • Your Own Preferred Name: The preferred name is now yours to set, at the top of Preferences — the name the system greets you by, while your full name stays how you are identified to everyone else.
  • User Change History: Role grants, status changes and employee links on a workspace user are now recorded, with a View History action under Admin › Users — the starting point for an access review.
  • Workspace Picker: The sidebar workspace selector gained search and favourite stars, for accounts with more workspaces than a flat list can carry.
  • A Workspace Per Tab: Sessions are bound to your account with a workspace per browser tab, so two workspaces side by side no longer mix up who you are.

🔑 API for Integrators

  • Published API Reference: The API document describes the endpoints you may integrate against, says how to authenticate with a bearer API key, and gives an absolute address a generated client can use.
  • A Stable Promise: An API key now reaches exactly the operations we chose to publish — everything else is internal and answers 404 — so what you build against will not shift under you. Employee, org-unit and dimension endpoints are part of that promise.
  • Created Entity Returned: Create endpoints return the entity they created, so an integration no longer has to read it back.
  • External ID: A standard external-id attribute lets you carry your own system’s identifier on mTime records.

✨ More Improvements

  • Scoped Configuration: Policies, holiday calendars and employment terms are matched to employees by work country, org unit and employment terms, so a multi-country workspace no longer needs a set of terms per combination.
  • Real Celebrations: The dashboard’s Celebrations card lists actual birthdays and work anniversaries in your own org unit.
  • Swedish Compensatory Days: A new accrual plugin, plus opt-in reduced Swedish holiday eves on holiday calendars.
  • Unsaved Changes: Closing a side panel with unsaved edits now asks first, and a failed save reverts only the field that failed rather than the whole screen.
  • Managers and Past Dates: A manager can register time off further back than an employee, where the policy allows it.
  • Cancellation Reaches the Approver: A request to cancel approved time off now notifies the approver.
  • Feedback Reports: You can now file more than one report from a single assistant conversation, and screenshots capture the part of the page you were actually looking at.
  • Language and Wording: The onboarding tour runs in the language you chose, and time off confirmations name the action you actually took.

🔧 Under the Hood

  • Security: A sustained pass over access control — per-employee scope checks moved into the middleware, timebank and workspace endpoints gated on the right permission, the API key lifecycle hardened, kiosk activation protected against guessing, and sessions revoked on password reset.
  • Fewer Server Errors: Failures that were never really server errors — a client disconnecting, rejected input, a database briefly unavailable — now answer with the right status and no internal detail.
  • Privacy in Exports: Debug and feedback exports mask personal data throughout, and the export catalogue is guarded as a whole.
  • Correct Balances: A run of accrual, flex-cap and consumption corrections — vacation no longer over-accrues in an employee’s first year, overlapping requests stop double-charging shared days, and adjusted or refunded days expire as they should.
  • Faster, Steadier Screens: Rebuilds are bounded, projections fold in memory and persist only what changed, and tables and settings pages no longer flash a skeleton while saving.
