Balance Cap
The Balance Cap constraint is meant to warn or block when an employee’s flex balance goes above or below set limits.
This constraint is not enforced. It can still be added to a work time policy, but mTime does not check the flex balance against it: no warning appears and submission is never blocked. To limit a flex balance, use the Balance Cap step on a settlement policy instead.
When to use
Don’t — use the settlement policy instead. Flex crediting, caps and payouts are all configured on a settlement policy. Its Balance Cap step actually removes the balance above the ceiling at each settlement, which this constraint never did.
