Expiration plugins
Expiration plugins control when accrued time off expires. They determine the “use by” date for earned vacation days or other time-off benefits.
Overview
Only one expiration plugin can be configured per policy. If configured, it overrides any expiration dates set by accrual plugins (such as the Danish Holiday plugin).
When to use expiration plugins
- To enforce company-specific expiration rules
- To comply with legal requirements in your jurisdiction
- To prevent unlimited accumulation of time off
- To override default expiration from accrual plugins
When not to use expiration plugins
- If your accrual plugin already sets the correct expiration (e.g., Danish Holiday plugin)
- If time off should never expire (use the “Never Expires” plugin in this case)
