Delete workspace
Permanently remove a workspace when it’s no longer needed.
Overview
Deleting a workspace removes all data associated with it, including employees, contracts, time records, and settings. This action is intended for closing down a workspace that is no longer in use.

What happens when you delete a workspace
When you delete a workspace:
- The workspace becomes inaccessible immediately
- All users lose access to the workspace
- The data is kept for 30 days in case it needs to be restored
- After 30 days, the workspace enters a queue for permanent deletion
- Full removal happens within 60 days of deletion
Before you delete
Consider these steps before deleting a workspace:
- Export your data: Use the data export feature to download a backup
- Notify users: Let workspace members know the workspace will be deleted
- Check integrations: Disconnect any active integrations to avoid errors in connected systems

Frequently asked questions
How long until a deleted workspace is fully removed?
When you delete a workspace, the data goes through two phases:
Retention period (30 days): The workspace is inaccessible but the data is preserved. Restoration is possible during this time.
Permanent deletion (within 60 days): After the retention period, the workspace enters a deletion queue. Full removal of all data happens within 60 days of the original deletion date.
This process ensures time to recover from accidental deletions while also guaranteeing that data is eventually fully removed from the system. For complete details, see our Data Deletion Policy.
