Check in/out widget

Check in/out widget

Check in and out straight from your phone’s home screen, without opening the mTime app.

Overview

The check in/out widget is a small card you can place on your Android or iOS home screen. It shows your current status at a glance:

  • Checked in — a running timer shows how long you have been checked in
  • Not checked in — your total worked time for the day (“Worked today”)
  • A play/stop button to check in or out with a single tap

The widget talks directly to mTime, so tapping the button records your check-in or check-out immediately — the app does not need to be open.

Adding the widget

Android

  1. Long-press an empty spot on your home screen
  2. Choose Widgets
  3. Find mTIME X in the list and drag the Check in/out widget to your home screen

iOS

  1. Long-press an empty spot on your home screen
  2. Tap Edit , then Add Widget
  3. Search for mTIME X and add the Check in/out widget in the size you prefer

On iOS, the widget requires iOS 17 or newer. On older versions the widget is not offered.

Staying in sync

The widget reflects what you do elsewhere in mTime:

  • Checking in or out inside the app updates the widget as soon as you leave the app
  • Checking in or out from another device (for example the web app on your computer) reaches the widget within about 15 minutes
  • On Android, tapping the card (outside the button) refreshes it immediately; on iOS, tapping the card opens the app, which also brings the widget up to date

Your time is always tracked by mTime itself — the widget is only a window onto it. Even if the widget is briefly out of date, your checked-in time is correct.

Signing in

The widget uses the same sign-in as the app. If you are not signed in — for example after your session expired — the widget shows Not signed in and offers to open the app. Sign in as usual, and the widget picks your status up again automatically.

Language and time format

The widget follows your mTime preferences: it uses the language set in your preferences (or your phone’s language if you have not chosen one), and shows the day’s worked total in your preferred time format (for example 6h15, 6:15 or 6,25).
